Do we offer tutoring services or Homeschool services?

Acadiana Reading Center was orginally opened to bring help to those in need of tutoring. However, over time our Homeschool program has become quite popular. You do not have attend both programs to attend. Students are welcome to participate in either program. We are A la carte meaning we will meet whatever needs you or your student(s) will need.

Can students who attend our Homeschool program attend college or apply for TOPS/ College Scholarships?

Any student who attends a homeschool, within the home, or within a microschool setting will have the same opportunities as any student who attends any other school in the state of Louisiana. College entry is heavily dependant on the students academics and ACT scroes ultimately. As a school we do help students apply for the ACT test and we also help students apply and plan for college.

Will students receive a diploma?

Yes, students who fit all graduation requirements will in fact graduate. Students have the option to attend a graduation ceremony or receive their diploma directly upon the last day of their senior year.

What curriculum do we use?

Our school uses a few different programs wihtin the classroom. All students use BJU press homeschool curriculum. This is a christian based program meaning it helps to instill good christian values within the school day. Even though our school does use a christian based program we are not deamed to any religion. The other program that we use is Math U See, this program is a wonderful math program that helps students with its multisensory based approach. Many of our students also thrive with this program because it is a multisensory based approach. Lastly, as a new approach starting in our Kindergarten classes and moving up each class will be working with the Barton Reading and Spelling program within the classroom. This time will not and cannot replace one on one tutoring. However it can provide extra tools and review to those students who are currently in the Barton tutoring program, or are in need of it.
